For lake lovers, there is no better place to call home than Lake County, Florida. With over 1,000 lakes and rivers, you are never far from the water. There are several cities in Lake County that have become increasingly popular over the years. At the northern end, the town of Lady Lake has become desirable for its proximity to The Villages, Florida, the world’s largest 55+ retirement community. South of Lady Lake, you will find Leesburg, a larger hub with access to several of the larger lakes and access to the Harris Chain of Lakes. Continuing south is the golden triangle which includes Tavares, Mount Dora and Eustis. Tavares, coined “Seaplane City”, is sure to appeal to boat and plane enthusiasts alike. Eustis has a quaint downtown with restaurants, shopping and entertainment in addition to quite a bit of residential developments. Mount Dora has become known for the downtown area which hosts festivals of all sorts and is home to many locally-owned shops and popular restaurants. The southernmost area of Lake County is the city of Clermont which used to be nearly all orange groves and has now become a booming real estate area as a bedroom community of Orlando. Many have come to love and call Lake County home for innumerable reasons from the quaint small-town feel, pristine lakes and proximity to Orlando to the south.
